I have a few what I call Prototype Ver 2 CW keys that I have built, and am sending out to gather feedback… but in reality, those are Version 21 of my cad design. I’ll use this page to document future version changes that happen as I work on them.
- Version 30
- Adding tension fittings for the cap. Inspired by my daughter’s Barbie playset… all the accessories are round bottomed and fit into a hex sized hole. Implementing on the CW key box and cap lid. Ordered test parts from JLC3DP to see what resin manufactured parts would feel like
- Version 28 & 29
- Various dimensional updates
- Version 27
- Reworking ground lug and wiring connection. Press fit M3 nut over the magnet wire is stressing the wire and causing breaks. Reworking ground lug way from M3 bolt to a round spacer, and using the M3 bolt from underneath. This M3 bolt will hold an M3 washer in place to make contact with ground wire.
- Version 26
- Dropping the brass insert for making contact between paddle and ground lug. Process is too tedious and a one time shot to get it right. Over inserting causes a headache, or making errors causes the part to be a throwaway. Moving to an M2 set screw that self threads and makes internal contact with paddle wire. Currently testing depth for perfect fit.
- Version 25
- Various adjustments to allow for the key body to be inserted either side facing up, allowing for clearance of the cover when closed
- Version 22
- Contoured key body for esthetics and less obstruction of the internal speaker (wasn’t an issue)
- Version 21
- Enlarged channel for magnet wire to pass through paddles
- Version 20
- Altered paddle channel from internal and encapsulated to exposed for easier threading of magnet wire
- Version 19
- Extended paddle length, and increased surface for lager touch surface / easier operation
- Version 18
- Adjustment to the key body to assist in wiggle free mating with KH1 body
- All previous version descriptions are a little spotty….
