Went for a solo activation this morning after dropping my youngest daughter off at preschool. I had a tight window of time so I planned on packing a light kit for this one. Notes online said that the hike was steep. They were not kidding! I have never owned and trekking poles, but decided to use this as an excuse to pick some up from REI. Weather was great. Got stung by a bee (have that on video lol)

Managed to complete the activation on 2m CW using my Blue Quansheng HT using the CEC firmware hack. I don’t have a CW key, so I simply use the front two buttons on the radio like an iambic paddle. It takes some getting used to but it’s fun!

From there I moved on to 20m and made some additional QSO. Had a great time!
